WHAT DOES IT HELP?
IPL Photorejuvenation skin treatment is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that improves the appearance of photoaged skin, removes age spots, most benign brown pigments and redness caused by broken capillaries. IPL Photorejuvenation can be tailored to your individual condition and skin type, providing superior cosmetic results and high satisfaction.
WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT DO?
Laser energy is directed at a target. In the case of the IPL the device emits a range of lightwaves that are then turned and targeted at hemoglobin (the red blood cells in the blood vessels) or melanin (the brown pigment in freckles and age spots). The light beam passes through the skin and is absorbed by either hemoglobin or melanin resulting in damage to the vessel wall or fragmenting of melanin pigment. These tiny vessels and the melanin pigment are then absorbed by the body, making them less visible.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
A broad spectrum of light is transmitted with the IPL hand piece through a small, smooth, transparent light guide which is gently placed over your skin. The light penetrates the tissue and is absorbed by either the blood when treating vascular lesions or the melanin when treating pigmented lesions damaging them. The body’s natural processes then remove the injured tissue giving the skin a more even tone and texture, and a more youthful appearance.
A broad spectrum of light is transmitted with the IPL handpiece to provide improvement in the appearance of age spots, sun spots, sun damage, freckles, rosacea and more. IPL Photorejuvenation can be used to treat any area of the body. The most common areas are the face, neck, chest and hands.

Laser and Options of your choice:
Since each pigment color or target absorbs a specific wavelength, we will utilize the appropriate IPL Filter to selective treat the target - age spots/sun spots, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, vascular spider veins, active acne. We also use cold sono gel and the Zimmer Cryo 6 to help patients keep their skin cool and to help numb the area while treat it.
Supplies:
Alcohol Pep Pad (70% Isopropyl Alcohol)
Optional - RX Strength Topical BLT anesthetic applied and occluded 20-35 minutes before your treatment time to help with pain levels
You will see some improvement about a week out of each treatment. The maximum results will be visible 3-5 months out if you do a series of treatments about 1 month apart each. It is not unusual to have your results vary with each treatment. Typically the energy is tuned up with each treatment so that each treatment in a series becomes more aggressive then the one prior. This is based off of your result to each treatment.
The more sun damage or redness you have, the more likely you are to need a full five treatments. Some cases of severe redness or brown spots require more than 3-5 treatments. Expect to see gradual clearing over time.
You may feel some mild discomfort, but it is typically less with each treatment. The first treatment may feel the “zingiest”. As your skin begins to clear, the treatments usually become even more comfortable. Treatments usually take about 30-45 minutes and depend on the size of the treated area.
