Dysport, Jeuveau & Xeomin are among the top provided non-surgical cosmetic procedures in the U.S. to smooth wrinkles that form due to facial expression and movement. Frowning, squinting, smiling, and other facial movements cause the development of static lines and wrinkles.
Many people ask, “when is the best time to start getting nuerotoxin injections?” Many people wait to schedule their first neurotoxin appointment after expression lines appear. The longer you wait the more difficult it will be to smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Prevention is the best option and will benefit you in the long run. Get ahead of the expression lines when you notice them and relax them before they continue to set in and turn into static fine lines and wrinkles.
Chronological aging is easier to stop in its tracks than some might think. You don't have to drive to a big city to prevent and treat your wrinkles. We provide Amarillo and the surrounding areas with everything they need to prevent significant signs of aging. We carry Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin in our clinic to give you a variety of all the currently FDA approved options!
Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin all contain the same active ingredient, botulinum toxin A, a neurotoxin. They are injected into specific muscles that cause expression lines. Some of the most common placed injection are in the glabella (between the eyes) that cause the “11” lines, the forehead to prevent and soften horizontal lines, and by the eye to help with “crow’s feet”.
Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin are neurotoxins that have all been FDA approved and have used safely for years as a low risk option to prevent and relax fine lines and wrinkles. They work to temporarily inhibit signals in the muscles that cause them to contract preventing worsening of expression lines. This will assist to visually decrease “11” lines, horizontal forehead lines, and crow’s feet.
Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin all contain the same active ingredient: botulinum toxin type A. The main difference between the four products are in the formulation. Currently in the United States there are only four botulinum neurotoxins licensed for use. The products ProgressMD uses are abobotulinumtoxin A (Dysport), prabotulinumtoxin A (Jeuveau) and incobotulinumtoxinA (Xeomin) . These designated names were developed to emphasize that each of the individual products vary in potency and that they are not interchangeable. This influences the dose and units that you receive depending on the product you select. All work toward the same goals of achieving cosmetic improvement of fine lines and wrinkles (rhytids).
Differences in the formulation include protective proteins attached to the molecules of the product. Dysport has small proteins causing it to be slight decrease the onset of results. This decreases the incidence of developing a resistance to the product. Jeuveau's unique perk is that it doesn't spread out as far post injection and its best for those who are more prone to having Ptosis and or that have heavy eyelids before receiving any injections. Xeomins unlike other toxins which contain additional proteins, Xeomin is uniquely purified to contain only the active ingredient – botulinum toxin type A.
With the previously noted difference between Dysport, Jeuveau and Xeomin, they all work with the same mechanism of action. All neurotoxins prevent acetylcholine (ACh) release from the presynaptic membrane, causing temporary calming of the muscle contractions by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses.
With this temporary effect, the decrease muscle movement helps smooth fine lines, and further prevents wrinkles (rhytids) from becoming deeper.
