Progress MD offers two main treatments for hair restoration or hair loss, one of which being PRP (platelet rich plasma) injections and the other being mesotherapy. PRP injections work by stimulating the stem cells and other cells that are present in the microenvironment of the hair follicle. The stem cells then promote healing and regeneration by stimulating inactive or newly implanted hair follicles into an active growth phase. In order to utilize the PRP option the designated technician or physician will first draw blood from the patient and then use a centrifuge to split the plasma from the blood. Once that is complete they will then fill a syringe with your own plasma and begin injecting it into the desired areas. The treatment is quite quick and comfortable with minimal discomfort. The second option is mesotherapy, which involves injecting a substance made up of minerals, amino acids, vitamins, specific chemicals, nucleic acids, and co-enzymes that encourage the hair’s natural regeneration and proliferation process.
