I am a licensed and certified Esthetician and I specialize in beautification of the skin. It is legal for regular cosmetologists to do peels however, my entire education was focused on the skin which means I have more experience with the pros and cons of skin treatments, disease and beautification than someone who is more diversified. I want you to be able to live your best life. I want you to feel confident in your appearance. I have experience using peels to eliminate specific skin problems with success. The results have been astounding including people with hyper-pigmentation who had never been able to go outside without make-up able to go natural without fear and an overall improvement in the texture and thinning of the skin. I am fastidious when using peels. I explain everything in detail and don’t rush through so you are aware of all pre-and post peel procedures.

Chemical Peels are a type of exfoliation much like Microdermabrasion which is a manual deep exfoliation. Unlike manual exfoliation chemical peels use a variety of acids to accelerate exfoliation. By using chemicals such as salicylic acid, lactic acid, enzyme, AHA, or TCA peels to stimulate cytokines and inflammation the skin is rejuvenated. Uneven pigmentation is eliminated or reduced and the epidermis thickens and collagen production is increased in the skin. It also increases dermal volume making the skin look healthier and younger improving the appearance of the skin. It decreases the appearance of sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles as well as hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tones and scaring. Peels address skin damage over a broad area. It is gentler than microdermabrasion and is a great substitute when alternated with microdermabrasion to alleviate a specific skin issue such as hyper pigmentation or uneven skin tones.

We start out with cleansing the skin and apply the peel over the entire face avoiding the eyes and the edge of the nostrils and lips. The application will be timed. You may be given a hand held fan to blow air onto the surface of the skin to cool it as you may feel a mild burning sensation. After the time is up I will apply a neutralizing agent if necessary and apply a soothing, calming mask followed by steamed towels, serums, moisturizer and sunscreen and get you ready for the rest of your day. You can expect some redness, dryness and flaking in the days following the peel. As with any wound healing you should take care to keep the area clean and dry as it works it’s magic. You will see the best results a few days after the peel when the cycle of healing the controlled damage has been successful.
