Botulinum Toxin
(Botox/Dysport/Xeomin)
+ Dermal Fillers

The use of neurotoxins such as Botox as well as Dysport and Xeomin have been used for years to soften facial expressions and diminish the appearances of fine lines. Neurotoxins work by relaxing the targeted muscles in the face that create certain lines that we are not too fond of. They do not completely erase any fine lines or wrinkles that have already formed, they simply ‘freeze’ the face to prevent those lines from becoming any deeper. In order to fill in those preexisting lines we like to utilize dermal fillers such as Restylane, Juvéderm, and Belotero. Dermal fillers are what we use to give shape and fullness to your lips, to fill in hollowing cheeks, or to fill nasal folds/smile lines. Although these are only temporary fixes, neurotoxins tend to last between 3-4 months while fillers last between 6-9 months. Regular upkeep of neurotoxin appointments especially will help to avoid increasing the amount of fine lines that we tend to create on our foreheads, in between the eyes, and crow’s feet.

Planning is key when it comes to neurotoxins and fillers. There can be slight bruising or swelling involved with being injected and we would like our patients to know that if there is an event coming up, prepare to be injected at least two weeks’ prior or wait until after the event has taken place.

Before booking an appointment for either one of these treatments it is important to know that although there are many successes with these products, Progress MD does not guarantee that they will work for everyone. Each person will have their own experience.
